GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS...
Another possible rainy day. Cold and socked in right now. Might be going out to dinner with Mom and Dad tonight if they feel like it. Other than that, just called a few neighbors asked about donations for the Fat cat yard sale and have some laundry to do.
I think if it's not raining, hubby wants to rent the sod cutter tomorrow. [sign in to see URL]'s going to be one LONG hard working weekend! I better rest up today! LOL

MULADZH, I do not blame you for wanting to stop living in a construction zone. Hopefully the truck does not cost to [sign in to see URL] RV is still in the shop, been a little over a week..... emoticon

FIRLE....sounds like your creativity came with the morning sun! emoticon
Your doing great work... emoticon

SAIJEN...you lucky dog! I love a good storm! emoticon
Happy that your ankle is feeling better. Just wish the theater stuff would straighten out! emoticon

It is really good when folk come read here - makes it worth while writing anything. This is such a good board, shame more folk don't come help get it up to speed again. Hardly any posts in a day, and usually the same three posters, with the occasional fourth.

Just came in from finishing mowing all I could - there is one steep bit that is still too wet to mow - can't get up it with the mower.

Hi everyone. What a beautiful day out. The sun is shining and it's going into the 60's! A perfect spring day. And I plan to start my spring cleaning as well as my usual housework. Today my niece is getting married. --Log in or sign up to see linked image content-- It's not a formal affair, just her parents and his in my brother's backyard. Hopefully the weather will hold out for them. There is a lot of rain in N.C. this weekend. Anyhoo, I should get busy cleaning.

Muladzh, I know what you mean. It's hard sometimes to get folks to come visit a board. My own board has like 5 loyal posters and that's it. I like to come here and read. I don't post a lot because I'm not real up to speed on this stuff. LOL. But I'm getting there.

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

This morning, when the sun had dried the dew, I managed to get the steep bit mowed. A couple of cars stopped to watch the idiot on the big mower on the steep hill. I think they were hoping I would tip over. It is very steep, but the grasshopper does well on it - the mower part sticks out in front, so it is long, not like one with the mower below its belly. This makes it quite stable on the hills.

We went shopping later, and found that both ways, the road had very slow, smelly exhaust vehicles going at walking speed.. Very annoying. We also came across a loose horse - don't know where it belonged, and it wandered up some people's driveway and disturbed their barbecue before we got near it.

Justbec: Hope you had a great time at the wedding! Did you have good weather?

Muldadzh: Icky vehicles! I can smell the exhaust all the time when I walk to work, since I walk along a road. Usually, there is enough of a breeze going to make it a short experience.

I hope the horse found its way home ... maybe with the help of the people at the BBQ.

It rained all weekend. Even so, I made myself go for a walk on Saturday - I'm finally getting it into my thick head that I need to move my body around to avoid drifting into sadness. (And I'm finally losing weight, I think. My jeggings are starting to slip.)

I watched the aquarium harbor seals do some wild jumping in their pond (I believe that might be part of a mating ritual), something I have never seen before.

And then one of the big cruise ships took off from the pier - first cruise of the year. They like to use Kiel as home port, because the pier is just a nice walk away from the train station, making it easy for people to arrive and leave.

Didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but I really needed a lot of downtime. My projects are demanding a lot of energy - but I have two new coaching clients, after I offered spaces in my newsletter. That's very good. Will offer one remaining space to my German list and one space to my English list. (And all of this will help to pay for continued coaching I'm taking for myself.)

I'm still impressed by how ridiculously easy it was to get those two clients. I just needed to make a very clear offer. And they made up their mind that they wanted my help. No sales pitch at all! emoticon

Morning everyone. Firle, I didn't go to the wedding. It was in North Carolina and with everything going on here at work we couldn't take the time. She just had her parents and his there anyway so it was fine. Not sure if the weather held out or not. More 'April showers' expected here all day. But hey, it's Monday so it fits. emoticon I should get going, have a great day gang!

It started raining last night, and has not stopped yet - the rear car port is leaking like a sieve so we need to do something with it - the Spyder motorbike got soaked under it last night.

The thing is so flimsy, I rather think it needs removing and replacing with something rather more substantial.

Today we get to go to the insurance agent to see what the insurance policies are at - we have a lot of policies that I am not quite sure of.

GOOD MONDAY MY FRIENDS!

[sign in to see URL] a weekend! We donated several items to Payette Partners Rescue Ranch, Inc. And FINALLY got to meet in person Lyn. What a lovely, remarkable woman she is. (She's the one who helped us find a family for that little doggy we rescued at the rest stop!)
Then we rented the sod cutter and made short work (2 hours) cutting the sod. Then came the hard part. [sign in to see URL] it look easy. Just cut, roll up and load. [sign in to see URL] RIGHT! Our space is about 12 feet wide by 60 feet long. The sod cutter cuts in 12 inch wide swaths. We had to cut the sod in 1 foot squares it was so heavy. And the first truck load to the dump weighted 2,010 pounds. And that was ONLY ONE full 60 foot X 12 inch wide section and 2 about half that long. That took us 5 hours to do. We have 6 more 60 foot long rows. And neither of us can move already. I [sign in to see URL] may be in over our heads! [sign in to see URL] we still have at least 2 maybe 3 more truck loads of sod to haul out. AND then we have to dig all the rose bushes up. If any one has ever dug a rose [sign in to see URL] know they have roots that go down several feet and shoot [sign in to see URL] in itself is a job, as I have 8 roses bushes, as well as two medium sized lilac bushes and several hundred Tulips, daffodils and other assorted bulbs in there. THEN we get to level it, add huge 8x8x6ft timbers to outline one side to keep our gravel out of the neighbors driveway, bring in a dump truck full of gravel, and level that! WE MAY BE DONE WITH THIS [sign in to see URL] MAY!! LMAO emoticon But I guarantee, we will NOT need a membership to any gym! emoticon [sign in to see URL] today, then we pick up the RV tonight. Supposedly it's [sign in to see URL] it at Mom and Dads till we are done with our [sign in to see URL] A BUSY [sign in to see URL] the weather is GORGEOUS! Going to be in the 70's most of this week! YIPPIE!! Anywho, you all have a fantastic day....

Sounds like a lot of work, Queenie.

It stopped raining, got to 62˚F but no sun. Got the insurance sorted out, doubled the umbrella policy - it had been at the same level for twenty years.. so now we have a good buffer against lawsuits etc. I bought an expenses life policy - Getting old, over sixty so I thought having the death expenses would be a good idea - it will cover the body disposal costs, and only costs $500 a year.. (It would have been way cheaper had I done it ten or twenty years ago - but.....

Didn't get any pictures of the garden done today - too dreary. I will try tomorrow.
