Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

Last week, very few of the shrubs on our land were doing anything. One week later, they are all blooming, looking good, and giving the yard a nice spring look. The grass has decided to spurt up too - I am needing to mow the hill every two days, but if it is wet, the mower will not climb the hill. All this excitement.....emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today was a pretty quiet day - we did some shopping in Johnson City - at Earth Fare, went to the bank - always fun, then checked out an address I needed to look at - nice house, the person checks out.. Investigating things is great fun. Checked out another place - someone wanted to know what potential threats were present in his neighbourhood, before spending a lot of money renovating his house. For the scenario he wanted assessment for, his house failed, big time, with a low income trailer park within half a mile, terrible condition houses and vehicles again within half a mile, high unemployment occupancy, a lot of tags and vandalism. His house in its current condition looks better than most, but not much. To do anything the building and lot will attract attention from the other residents of the area. We looked about for ten minutes, and saw three cop cars entering the large trailer park, and one leaving with someone cuffed in the back. High crime area, guy wants to completely renovate the house, put a new roof on, build a workshop, build a stable.. Sort of open invitation to the criminal element that has to pass his property to get to the very low quality trailer park. In the ten minutes I saw two men round the back of his place, looking in two old cars he has there. If there was anything left, I imagine it won't be there now.

GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS! (the photo above is of my flowers.)
Had a good time yesterday at the Fat Cat Yard sale, Mom, Dad and I all found lots of "goodies"...And I got to meet the people who I am always chatting with online.
Then we went grocery shopping, and I came home and mowed the lawn. Just finished up before dinner.........looooong day, but a good one. Sometime today, Mom and I are making a dump run with all our grass clippings. Not sure when...but other than that....not to much else. Need to hand water the flower beds at least, since the irrigation pump broke...and it won't be working again until MAYBE Sunday. I should be off and on all day today....SO YOU ALL HAVE A BRILLIANT DAY!

MULDAZH...I feel sorry for that person. We always try to buy the cheapest place in a very GOOD neighborhood. Then fix it up...seems to work for us. emoticon

Happy May!

Having a great time with my friend Charlotte from the Netherlands. It's about time I take her back to the trainstation.

We had a wonderful three days, working together, brainstorming, and walking in the city. Totally inspiring!

Weather has been great, even if a bit cold. Frost this morning. Fortunately, my balcony stayed bit warmer, so the beautiful daliah I got the other day is safe.

Good Morning everyone! Hope your Saturday is starting off well. It's beautiful here but they say it might cloud up later. So I'm trying to get organized and get out of here. Need to run the usual errands then come home and start working on cleaning and throwing stuff out. Going to try and do a little every weekend. Other than that I will be around to play. Queeny, I think you have invisible flowers. Twice now I've looked for them in posts.! LOL. Enjoy your day everyone!

Having friends coming to see you is wonderful, glad you had a good time, Firle. We spent time yesterday visiting with friends, intending to stay a couple of hours, ended up staying eight. Froggy really enjoyed herself - she is going to demonstrate making mayonnaise without using vegetable oil - ninety percent of the mayo available has soybean oil as the main ingredient. It still amazes me that manufacturers are permitted to feed that toxic junk to humans. The scientific evidence against soy beans is overwhelming - how anybody can think it is good for someone is beyond me. So Froggy is spreading the joy with non veggie oil mayo.. She makes it out of palm and macedamia nut oil, non hydrogenated, /(coz hydrogenation is REALLY bad) or sometimes, if I am lucky, she makes it out of bacon fat... Yummy.

Morning all. Here's hoping you are all enjoying your Sunday. I have the usual to do, cooking, cleaning and ironing. Going to make ribs for supper and thinking of tossing some chicken in the crockpot for a meal during the week. Happy Star Wars Day gang! emoticon

May the 4th be with you. emoticon

Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

Today is sunny, light breeze but chilly. Not enough to turn the heat on, but enough to wear a jumper.. Waiting for the windows is exciting and frustrating - I want it to happen NOW, but of course, it won't. They will be fitted by the 24th, so I need to slow down, keep chilled and not fret. Not easy.

I tried a new way to mow the hill, yesterday - I now have a crossed diagonal mowing pattern going on. It looks amazing, but only if seen from one point. The house is being invaded by silent odd looking crickets, that jump six feet when disturbed. I am glad they don't chirp - the idea of being chirped at out of the blue is not nice. Maybe if we don't find where they are coming in we will get chirped at in breeding season. Hopefully we will stop whatever gp they are getting through.

We went out last evening, and took the Prius - an odd car, but our friends got a kick out of us leaving at ten o'clock - we put the electric only option on, and left the place silently, not starting the engine until we were two hundred yards down the road. As a novelty, the Prius is great. As a serious car it is uncomfortable, slow, quirky, loud harsh engine tone, when it is running, odd and boring. It belongs to my Sis-in-law so fortunately I am stuck with it, she is.. We borrow her car quite often, just for fun.

Not sure what we are doing today, something nice I hope, Froggy is making breakfast and has not yet decided what we should do later. Perhaps chill out, or go enjoy sitting by a lake or river.

The membership of this board is hopeless - they hardly ever post anything, citing too busy, doing something else. It would be so nice if people would just come her for a few minutes and post something - it would not take long, and would make the porch look loved. hint hint.

Morning everyone. Woke up and decided to take the day off and do some stuff around the house. So that means I get to play. It's a beautiful day out too. Think I'll be opening some windows later. Muladzh, sounds like you were a busy beaver. emoticon Sorry no one is posting, I know how frustrating that can be. I deal with it on my board too. But I enjoy coming here and reading what you've been up to. Enjoy your day everyone!
