Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

We took the truck to the repair shop this morning, so it should be ready by close this afternoon - we will head back there at three thirty.. a couple of hours from now. It drives well enough, though there is a stumble every so often, so I think the throttle body needs some work, I will take a look on a cool day - over 80˚ again today, Summer kind of started after a week of spring.. All the leaves have come out, flowers on trees, and very summery temperatures, blue skies and bugs everywhere. It will only get hotter though. Last year, the hottest day we felt was about 95˚ I think, I can't remember a 100˚ day. Maybe there was but I didn't notice.. It is about five degrees cooler at the house, than it is the RV Park we lived in last summer, so it may not get so hot here, which would be nice.

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING MY FRIENDS!

Well, it's partly [sign in to see URL] the winds seem to have died down to a light breeze. So later I'll go dig up my last rose bush that I'm not keeping and then go over to Mom's and dig up 3 dead ones she has, and transplant mine there. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring. But that should be [sign in to see URL] can be a bugger to dig! LOL Hope you all have a fabulous day.

MULDAZH....hope the truck is working perfectly [sign in to see URL] love [sign in to see URL] has so much [sign in to see URL] hit 100 here, but it's not much humidity here in the Summer so that helps.
Thanks for the kind words on my doc [sign in to see URL] did feel inferior for a minute. Then I remembered that only I can LET them make me feel this way. So as I left, I happened to mention to him that "I had looked him up on Healthgrades, just to see who I was going to. And that I agreed with the poor reviews, he deserved them all." Not that it made a [sign in to see URL] I got to jab him as I left. emoticon

FIRLE....I'm happy to hear your Sinus are getting better. I hope now that your weather improves! emoticon

Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

It is a cooler day today, partly cloudy with a stiff breeze. Tonight is threatening thunderstorms with 80% chance of rain. I do not like thunderstorms in America - they often do damage. Scottish thunderstorms just rattle the windows.. emoticon That is the problem with having been born in a house having nine foot thick walls, then moving to America with its flimsy houses.

Today, having a working truck, I get to go unload a large trailer of things we have yet to unpack. It is stored ten miles away in a safe place, but it will be nice to get to my tools... With the tools, I should be able to build a flat-bed for the Freightliner.. then we will have two trucks to use. Such is the fun of a retired man..

My Sis in law works for IP as a roving manager, goes all over the country, flying every week. Gets plenty of frequent flyer miles, but that is not the reason for mentioning her here. She has an expensive work computer, that is one year old.. Yesterday it fried.. One week out of six, she works from home, checking up on the projects she worked on in the previous six weeks, so this was one of her home weeks. The computer fried at home, so she cannot work today, at all, can't access the secure web to work with IP, so has a day off, but not only can she not work, she can't get the laptop fixed. They want her to fedex it to Memphis - which will ensure she can't do any work for at least three days, next week.

It is a sorry state of affairs, when a worker is unable to work because a laptop dies.

GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS!

So I can catch my breath, make Mom's mothers day card and rest my [sign in to see URL] this weekend starts. Tomorrow we are making over Mom's bathroom, taking her out to [sign in to see URL] on Sunday we are installing her new stove hood vent. Going to be [sign in to see URL] a wonderful kind of busy! [sign in to see URL], another cup of coffee is in order.

MULDAZH.....hubby works from home as well. But is his computer dies, the company tells him to go buy a new one. Matter of fact his is only 3 years old and they want him to replace [sign in to see URL] foot up to $1,[sign in to see URL] anything over that we pay.
Glad you got your truck fixed and can get to your tools. AND [sign in to see URL] MAN IS EVER RETIRED! emoticon

Hi all. Dreary day here but it's Friday so I don't care. emoticon

Muladzh, hope she can get fixed. I have a laptop and a desktop at work and 3 monitors. At home hubby and I both have laptops. I work from home occasionally too. But not for much longer.

Have a GREAT Friday everyone. Hi Queeny, enjoy your Weekend with Mom. My mom has been gone 4 years now. [sign in to see URL] feels like yesterday.

Queeny, the truck works great, picked up some of the tools, but rain came, so we stopped moving them - tools and wet don't really mix well. Sis in law works for IP who are stingy when it comes to equipment - her computer did the exact same thing, six months ago, but started working as soon as the tech dept got hold of it. they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Now it has done the same thing again.

Unfortunately, I know PC computers pretty well, which is why I now use Macs. The problem is in the hard drive, the head that reads the disks is jamming or broken. It needs a new hard drive - a $95 piece, that they can't be bothered to fork out for. It is possible to temporarily repair the head, so they can get the data off the disks, or you can play silly beggars and take the disks out, put them into another hard drive, and take the data off that way. They would rather mess about, and have her drive thirty miles each way, to take it to a facility that will send it to head office (Memphis) She won't get it back until mid week, but she has to be in Colorado Monday morning, for work. I would never work for IP.

Muladzh, I get you on the houses ... I like living in an old brick house with walls almost a foot thick. A thunderstorm means nothing to this veteran.

Weather is still rainy, but I managed a quick store run yesterday in a dry moment. Forgot a few things, so I'll go out again later this morning, and get breakfast rolls. In Germany, they are just like little pieces of bread, not sweet. I like having them on weekends.

Trying to think of ways to tell more people about my Short Story Workshop. And possibly do a webinar to attract more people to my list ... brainstorming session today.

Morning everyone. Here's hoping you are having a good Saturday. It's rainy here but it's the weekend so I don't care. Need to get moving. Going to run all my errands do laundry and continue to pack. But I'll be around when I can. Firle, hope you can spread the word about your workshop. Good luck! Have a great day gang!

Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

Very wet today - just steady downpour that does nothing but soak everything. Too much water for being good for the garden. We have a muddy stream running down the hill - I need to make ditches to keep the run off away from the driveway.

It is somewhat amusing that the main posters on this board, right now, are all premium users..

I Sis in law returns to work on Monday.. This is a good thing, as we really like being by ourselves. Her house, the cabin she had me sign on, has a very interested party thinking about our last counter offer. We have taken everything off the price that we can, and still cover the closing costs. We are hoping it will sell, and get me out of debt. We will see, no doubt.

Froggy is making banana bread - one of our staples; we have it twice a month, perhaps. Delicious. Tomorrow she is making a beef pot pie, that will last three days or so. I am so glad she is a good and eager cook, though the amusing thing about that is, I taught her how to cook. Funny how the student so often surpasses the expertise of the teacher.

I plan to cook today, as well, a slight experiment. Chicken, bok choi and peanuts. emoticon

Still wet here, but more a drizzle than rain. It would be a perfect day to curl up with a mug of tea, a good book, or brainstorming with a partner. I will manage the book.

Sinuses are clearing. Not sure what I did but they are finally improving. I did ask for help from divine sources, so that could be it. In that case, thanks!

Today, I will finish that blog chain thing. If I can't find three authors who want some promotion, so be it. I have one.
