Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

Firle, that tradition sounds both scary and ridiculous. Drunks roaming the streets are a menace, particularly with obnoxious music players.

Today is cool outside, but the house is too hot - still high seventies in here, and sixties yet outside. My office is the hottest, as usual - I have printers, copy machines, a scanner and the massive Mac tower. Couple that to two monitors and you get a lot of heat generated. In winter, that is nice - keeping a warm eighty, but in summer, no way. I have fans blowing on me, but still too darned hot. Copy machines are the hottest I think - got a small one and an auto feed, that get used a lot. The colour laser has an eco mode, so it is cool most of the time, but the speed printer keeps itself [sign in to see URL] would turn them off, except it takes forever for them to get going again, with more noise than I like in a morning. The computer is great - it takes forty seconds from power on, to ready. Got to like macs; my last PC tower took five minutes, my laptop took four.

GOOD THURSDAY MY FRIENDS....

Well last night it was almost 6pm and I still had not been able to call and get a hold of Mom. They are NEVER out past dinner unless with us. But Mom called about 6:20pm. Said they had gone for blood work that morning, got home, got a call from the Spine institute about some tests on his lungs and xray of the neck. So off they went to [sign in to see URL] me! Mom never drives further than Caldwell. But she [sign in to see URL] today, well this morning early, they are going to Caldwell to have a "heart stress test" ....they are definitely trying to get Dad in by next week. Hubby and I or at least me, will have to drive twice [sign in to see URL] for the [sign in to see URL] the day of the operation, because it's will be further in towards Boise. To many lanes of traffic for [sign in to see URL]'s pretty scary at almost 80. Heck it's scary for [sign in to see URL] only cause I hate traffic and to many people! But [sign in to see URL] they are gone, I'm going over and water Dad's garden and Mom's flowers. Dad has lost interest, he's in so much pain. And he loves his [sign in to see URL] I'm going to keep them going through out this whole [sign in to see URL] nothing else he can wheel out and pick a tomato later. I'll be around off and on today..

MULADZH...I do not envy you that heat. Hubby's computer used to take forever. Now he has a new [sign in to see URL] Yoga 2 [sign in to see URL] it boots up in about 10 seconds. LOL

FIRLE...Good on you listening to your body. [sign in to see URL] your BLOG. ♥

HI BECKY....hope the bosses stay out of your hair today.

GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS!
Well, the hospital called Dad, and it looks like we are set up for surgery next Wednesday the 4th of June. For his "Anterior Cervical Diskectomy and Fusion (ACDF)" [sign in to see URL] know, long name. Mom could not remember it. So I had to google spine neck surgery front and [sign in to see URL] I think Dad is going to be done for the Summer and I think I just inherited his Garden. Oh [sign in to see URL] least I love gardening. emoticon Looks like a very long recovery [sign in to see URL] hope this helps at least his neck pain. Don't know how he's supposed to use a walker and stuff with that neck brace [sign in to see URL] enough now. But, we shall cross this speed bump like any other. ♥ I'm taking them down, it's in Caldwell but they have to be there at 4:[sign in to see URL] Mom can't see well in the dark. But I was going to be there anyway. We decided to go for Steak Dinner tomorrow night, as NEXT Saturday is there anniversary and we were going there [sign in to see URL] Dad won't be able [sign in to see URL] we go early! LOL
As for [sign in to see URL] Mom calls we will go grocery shopping. If [sign in to see URL]'m not sure what I have planned. One of those days. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL [sign in to see URL]'s gorgeous here. emoticon

Whatever may come of this [sign in to see URL] just need the strength to hold everyone together (including myself. I don't do well in [sign in to see URL] feel EVERYONE around me. emoticon )...but I need to be prepared just in case the worst possible thing could happen. I know you think that may be [sign in to see URL] it's not, it's Dad coming out paralyzed would be the worst thing [sign in to see URL] if anyone has any spare [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] could use some on Wednesday. emoticon

Oh, if anyone is interested in the actual [sign in to see URL] is the website where I found the info. Only thing I can gather from [sign in to see URL] this is the exact surgery, EXCEPT they are not doing the "Bone graft" part.
Scroll down to the part that talks about (ACDF)...
surgery link

THIS [sign in to see URL] WILL NOT BE ONLINE much next WEEK and on a LOT LESS all [sign in to see URL] hope you all see this BEFORE you change the topic to JUNE.

Morning all. It's a beautiful day here on the Island. I have all the windows open. Just popping in to say hi before I head out to the store. Need to get back and get busy packing some more stuff. Muladzh, did your windows come in? Hope you all enjoy your day!

Re: May's Marvelous pre-summer chatterbox.

The saga of the Windows!

On Wednesday, the supplier told the fitter that the windows had been destroyed by a fork truck striking them at an interim shipping depot. We called on Friday, to find the man gibbering almost incoherently, because he did not know how to tell us the windows never arrived.. He rushed round to our house with the fax from the shipping company, the order he made, the dispatch note and other things to convince us that he had ordered them, and that they had been destroyed by the shipping [sign in to see URL] swore an oath that they would be installed by next Saturday evening, because if they did not get shipped next Tuesday, he would go to Chicago on Wednesday, and pick them up.

I told him if they weren't in by next Saturday, he could give me my deposit back.. He agreed happily, telling me that if they are not in next Saturday he will return my money, and still fit them when they eventually arrive. I rather think he intends to get them in by Saturday next..

The house managed to lose one degree, with two windows open in the new kitchen, and an extractor fan in the guest room window - which is the only window in the main house that opens. The fan did not have the power to pull much air in, and the house was too hot to start with. I am getting a 1360 to 3600 Cubic Ft per minute fan this month, that will fit over a window, to allow much more air movement - I may get two of them.. emoticon Then we can cool the house down at night, and keep cooler during the day. We still do not want to replace the entire ductwork, then fix the carrier unit outside - we don't like duct blown heat or cooling, so do not think the few thousand needed to get it going is worth it - We got the unit checked out last week - it needs serious work to make it work, over a thousand in parts and labour, so the whole system would take over three thousand to get going. I don't know if we will decide to do it next year, but we can't afford it this year.

Oh, my! That's awful. Destroyed by a forklift. That's unbelievable...

Hope you'll get them next Saturday. It does sound like this man will go to some measures to get it done.

Queeny: Sending you and your dad lots of good vibes. May the outcome be the BEST for your Dad.

I pulled the Workshop pages from my website menu. They still exist, so the old links won't go dead, but they are no longer visible for a casual visitor. I feel defeated.

It's too early in my business to offer group programs. I have to face this, and buck up to get referrals. So my question is: What would you guys like to have so you can refer people to me? Business cards? Flyers? Website addy handy? Or an online form they can fill in to see if we're a good fit?

I'm out of ideas. Fighting to stay positive. emoticon
