Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest

Woke up early today to a cloud-free sky. Looking at a three day weekend, as Monday is a public holiday.

And for once ... I don't know what to do. I just know I do not want to spend it in front of the computer, losing myself in FB. I might write, I should list things for my tax declaration (which was due May 31st, but I don't care), and I should go for walks.

Sinuses are gradually getting better, and I feel that I have more energy. Steadily going to bed at 10pm might have done something for that, as well as the naps I try get often. Still, I sport quite the rings under my eyes...

Anyway, have a wonderful day! And I shall, too.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest

Overcast today so it may be cooler. We have the house in chaos, with things out of the way of the windows - hopefully nothing will go wrong, or break.. Neither of us enjoy having people in the house, unless we really know them. Breaking the fabric of the structure by taking windows out might play havoc with the protections around the place, so I have things ready to replace everything by nightfall..

Four windows in so far, and the place looks like a different house - it is bright and airy, instead of gloomy and stuffy.

Six windows in so far, and the difference is more than amazing. There is a cooling breeze coming into the bedroom, and my office is beginning to be less than a sauna.

Having a lovely lazy day, sitting on the balcony, reading, napping, and generally just restoring health and energy.

Ten windows in so far, and we sit in the office, with a cooling breeze blowing through. This room has gone from the hottest, stuffiest room, to coolest and most airy so far. This is more of an improvement than we expected. Sitting here with the birds tweeting and insects buzzing who cannot get in is wonderful. The cows across the road sound like they are in the garden. This is WAY COOL.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest

The eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth windows are replacing a large centre window, with two narrow windows each side, with three equal sized windows. This means they have to make the frame for them to fit into. Walking into the living room, to see a massive gap where the three windows used to be is a shock. The hole is eight feet wide, and six feet tall. It will take them a while to do this window. Then, when it is finished, only one more in the scullery to do. The house feels so good now.

Soooooo glad and happy for you! You won't even recognize the living room with all the light and air!

And I love how your office is nice and cool now. It's important to have nice work space.

Thirteen windows in now, only one more to go. They are fitting all the trim pieces now, and will come on Monday to calk them all.. They want the windows to set for a couple of days first.
