Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest

So glad to hear that your dad is almost back to normal. It sure looks like that place is good for him.

And glad you feel up to the drive. emoticon

Today it's sunny and really windy.

Yesterday was a long day. Work, then my friend Stephan came to help me replace a tarp on my balcony that keeps out wind and rain on one side. The old one was torn and flapping all the time.

So we took the old tarp down, and then went to the hardware store to buy a new one and everything we needed to prepare it. The only tarp we could get was more than double the size we needed. So we had to cut it in half first, and then adjust for the opening on the balcony. We addet grommets (just learned that word yesterday!), and then used cable ties to fix it in place.

It took quite a while, but at about 6pm everything was finished. I had even returned the parts I didn't need to the hardware store.

I'm very, very happy about having that new tarp. It looks good, even though it's plain white, and it will make sitting on the balcony much nicer.

And then I contacted my formatting people and started uploading the files to CreateSpace. Fortunately, they talk me through each step, so it was easy.

Just as we were finished, the phone rang. It was friend, completely distraught about severe illness in her family. So I ended up doing a spontaneous EFT session with her which took about another hour. She felt much better afterwards, which is good.

And I felt very confident in my ability and as expert - which is new. I've only felt that way for a few days, really. I love having the confidence that I know what I'm doing and that I'm good at it. Big shift, and - as my coach likes to say - big upleveling.

*hugs for everyone* emoticon emoticon emoticon

Morning all. Happy Saturday and Summer Solstice! I have my usual errands to run, laundry to do and cooking but this is the last weekend I have to worry about getting it all done on Saturday! Image Next week is going to be fun, I can't believe it is finally here. Anyway, I'm off to the store, need to figure out food for the weekend and week. Firle, bought your book for my Kindle but it might be a few days before I can sit and read it. I can't wait! Have fun at your brother's wedding. Have a great day gang.

GOOD MONDAY GANG!

Well had a pretty good weekend, took Mom out Saturday to Weiser and the Old Time Fiddler Festival....Enjoyed the music, ate pizza and even had a beer...she needed a break! Then Sunday, Dad called and wanted a piece of KFC chicken and some of the chocolate flavored "BOOST" ....he's complaining out their food in rehab, so he's definitely feeling better! (Still did not eat much...but he ate some.) He had 55 minutes of therapy in the gym before we got there and then we changed his clothes, Mom got him shaved and he wanted to go outside and sit in the sun....first time since the operation, June 4th. A few more weeks and hopefully we can bring him home. Keep your fingers crossed...Anywho.....laundry and cleaning for me today. OH...and we picked out first Zucchini, so that will go on the grill tonight with our burgers...

Becky: Have a great week!

Queeny: Yay for you dad feeling good enough to want the sun. They are doing good things for him at the rehab.

Just got home about an hour ago from the trip. Most of it went very well, and I met nice people on the train, including a group of New Zealanders travelling Europe. They were all over 70 and having a blast. I could help them a little, as some of them were bound to Hamburg Airport and I got the train information they needed to feel comfortable.

My brother had organized a room for me at a Kindergarden, so I had the top storey of an old villa to myself, at no cost. (Modernized but very much '80s.) Very grateful for that.

Sunday was amazing. It was the first time ever I participated in the service of The Christian Community which is the "church" my brother chose years ago. Quite spiritual and very different from the usual Christian takes. I was impressed by it (and a little saddened by their insistance on a "father god"). Yet I really enjoyed the imagry they use - and the general openness and friendliness of the members. Everyone is welcome and made welcome. I also got to talk to my brother's mentor later at the wedding feast, and he is a very learned and spiritual man. I very much enjoyed the talk.

They celebrated at a place that takes care of handicapped people, and also gives them a lot of woodworking to do. It used to be a health resort - very old buildings - and is sited in a beautiful valley. They run a cafe once a week, and thus were equipped to host the wedding feast. And it was a feast! (Most of it cooked and prepared in the kindergarden kitchen where I slept. It's a tight-knit community.)

Travels were okay, food was plentiful, people were amazing - it was all good. Oh, and I love my new sister in law. Wonderful person, with great clarity and boundaries. Easy to be around.

Glad to be home, though. emoticon emoticon

WELL...GOOD TUESDAY MY FRIENDS!

Whew! Today, I have already helped Mom repaint the front of her house that gets the hottest sun so it fades, then I came home and put weed and feed on my lawn, weeded the garden, and tied up some climbing roses...it's a nice overcast day, not to hot yet....NOW...I can get online! Hope you are all having a good day...

FIRLE...so glad you got home safe and sound. It sounds like a wonderful wedding and I'm so glad you like your new SIL.♥

Glad you have time to play online today, Queeny. And yay for getting the house painted.

  emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I've been having a quiet day, with a long nap around noon, and a couple of errands done. Heading off for the night now, to settle down with a book and a glass of wine.

Busy day tomorrow, I'll teach a seminar in the morning and have two skype sessions in the afternoon.

And the day after tomorrow: Release Party! Yay!

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest

Yesterday, I started the book "Eat to Heat". It's quite fascinating, and it seems I managed to ruin my metabolism quite throroughly.

  emoticon

Starting to drink less and eat what I feel like, including junk food. Ahem. It does give me warm hands and feet at night, so I'm doing something right. Now to get my feet and hands warm with a good breakfast and lunch during the day. (Started out with hot chocolate made from whole milk. Might have to add some sugar and salt to it.)

I taught an EFT class today, and I did sip water during it, which was good for my throat, but not so good for the rest of me. Making lunch now, before a round of skype calls. Some sweets are helping me to warm up while it cooks.

Tomorrow is release day! Wohoooooo!

GOOD WEDNESDAY MY FRIENDS!

Well have the car in for the airbag recall. And they said there was another one on the seat belts.....so, having that and the oil changed at the same time. Also have already cleaned the cat boxes. As tomorrow is garbage day and I won't be here...Rehab day. Need to get some things cooked ahead, for the next couple days. As after hubby gets off work we are doing landscaping.....both here and over at Mom's we are getting all those little maintenance things done, so that when Dad can come home he doesn't feel like he needs to get out and do them..this weekend we are cutting down a dead tree there and making another dump run and then Sunday rehab visit...it's so cute, cause Dad does not care for the rehab places food. They use a lot of fancy spices...so he calls MOM and puts in an order! LOL Anywho....just need to wait around for the Car to get done....Hope you all have a fantastic day!

FIRLE....with the running back and forth to rehab, and all the added responsibilities, I've had a hard time keeping in line...but still doing better than before! emoticon
WISHING YOU TOTAL SUCCESS FOR YOUR RELEASE PARTY!!! emoticon
