Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
Thanks, Queeny!
I woke up really early and couldn't go back to sleep. Which means there will be at least one nap in my future, before I start the release day fun.
Weather is nice, so I'm hoping for some extra balcony time, but I also need to write two blog posts and send out one newsletter. I can do this - used to it and I'm usually fairly fast about it.
Breakfast was a roll (German breakfast roll, wheat but not sweet), with liver pate and cream cheese. Had a glass of orange juice / water - and I did add a pinch of salt to it. Quite an interesting taste!
It's still difficult to drink less when I taught myself to have some water every half hour or so... but I'm remembering how little I used to drink as kid, what I ate as kid, and it's coming back that I had no cold hands and feet back then, either. So it would be smart to move back to that kind of eating, I suppose. (Except it's hard to do that kind of cooking for lunch!)

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
Yesterday I spent most of my afternoon and evening in front of my computer, managing the Release Party for my book on Facebook. We had a good time, I gave away three ebooks and got a couple of nice story ideas.
And I sold books throughout the day, it seems, because "Here be Dragons" made it onto two bestseller lists on Amazon! So now I'm not only an "award-winning author", I'm also a "bestselling author"!
And I'm taking screenshots to document this. It's so incredibly awesome - and I didn't expect this! It was quite a surprise to notice that on the Amazon page yesterday, and to come back to it this morning and see that it was doing even better!
I'm very excited and tempted to spend the day watching the rank go ... up, hopefully! But I have to prepare for visitors, friends of mine are coming over for a sailing tour, participating in Kiel Week tomorrow, and I need to get things prepared for them. She's one of my staunchest fans and loves everything I write. I'm glad I will have a copy of the new book for her, I ordered three that should arrive today.
Oh, my goodness! I had no idea that being an indie author could be so exciting and awesome.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
Well, my book is no longer on the bestseller lists. One single sale yesterday wasn't enough. Ah, well, I had my moment of fame.
Friends are here for the weekend, but they are spending the day on a sailing ship, participating in the Tall Ships Parade of Kiel Week. I'll meet them later today when they get back. We'll walk downtown and have dinner at a nice Italian place.
I still have a regular sinus headache every morning, but since I started drinking less and eating more sugar, salt, starches and saturated fats, my nose is clearing up, and my body is warmer. Quite nice. (I grabbed "Eat for Heat" by Matt Stone when it was free for Kindle.) So I'll keep working on that, and will hopefully beat my sinus infection that way.

The simplicity of health makes for a refreshing change - I am managing to stay comfortable, in very hot weather, stay calm in crisis, and stay focussed in a very trying time. All because of the knowledge given about metabolism.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
I'm not really eating "well", but now I'm eating what I want, and it feels much, much better. Hands and feet are much warmer, I sleep better and my mood is improved - after only three days!
Sales for my book are down to zero. I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed. It seems that all my friends bought a copy and that's that.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
sales are all advertising. until your book is seen by hundreds, sales will stall. You launched at the end of a month, before pay day, maybe it is in people's wish lists.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
I hope so.
I keep mentioning it on FB, and a friend of mine has added the first story of the collection to a freebie of his - with backlinks to amazon, of course. I hope this will make a difference.
My old books don't sell at all.

Re: June's Jolly Jumping Summer Chat Fest
I sent email to the press lady at work weeks ago, asking if my award would be nice news for the intranet.
Today, she said it was but they cannot do any more PR if it's not uni-related. She also offered to tell our newspaper - but it's hard to market English-language books in Germany.
So I will also need more reach than just FB.
I added some Release Party quotes to the book page, as well as a personal message from me - it's live already. Hope it'll help sway those who actually see it...
