Headed over to Mom and Dad's early to cut down all Mom's dead Iris' and Yucca plants and pulled 4 wheelbarrow's full of weeds. Dad still can not do anything, other than walk using his walker to try to make his legs stronger. And he's still in a monster neck brace. So we'll get this done for her and he can concentrate on getting stronger. He must be feeling a bit better, cause he asked if Hubby and I were still doing, "FIESTA FRIDAY"....if so he thought he might could make that....I'll call again just before we leave, 4-4:30 ish to make sure. But they may be going out to dinner with us. First times since May 31st...the Saturday before his neck surgery. Anywho....got my shower, had some lunch...now can play a bit online.. OH AND HAPPY Lughnasadh or Lughnasa (pronounced LOO-n?-s?; Irish: Lúnasa; Scottish Gaelic: Lùnastal; Manx: Luanistyn) is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. OR Lammas Day (Anglo-Saxon hlaf-mas, "loaf-mass"), the festival of the wheat harvest, and is the first harvest festival of the year.... :hearts: MULDAZH...getting out is good, maybe the house feels like it's "closing" in on her. To bad that most of the stuff you went for was not there... And you heavy breather you... Have a good weekend my friends... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Fri, 01 Aug 2014 19:09:47 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247752,from=rss#post247752https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247752,from=rss#post247752 today was a fun day, we went to Sam's club, water a few supplies that they didn't have a cheese we normally have, nor the fish, nor all the kitchen towels, so we didn't really get what we wanted. froggy managed very well pushing the cart. Being in the van seems to animate the frog, and she is considerably better after going somewhere, so we are making sure to go go places everyday. The Dragon dictate software is working extremely well, learning all the ways I speak, and is doing all the work making this post. Today I'm taking Mom out for a "Ladies day out"....we are hitting the Weiser Chocolate factory/cafe....have a little lunch, a lot of coffee and chocolate and then hit our favorite consignment shop....the "boys" as we call them, as both are in their late 20's, early 30's....are beyond adorable. They had a hard time at first being a gay couple.....but once the people in this area got their heads out of their arses and realized what incredible young men they were, how much joy they spread..(we could talk to them for hours) and the incredible deals they have in their consignment/antique store...they have become a fixture here. Hubby and I try to stop at least once a month. A lot of our furniture, and decorating pieces come from there... Anywho.....we are in for a great day! Dad is okay to be on his own a bit....he knows he can not leave the house, nor can he go anywhere inside the house without his walker...Anywho that will be my day, but not till later. For now.....drinking coffee, enjoying a lovely sunrise and some good music... FIRLE...so glad everything has worked out for you. ENJOY that walk in the Forest....enjoy enough for the both of us! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Thu, 31 Jul 2014 14:55:08 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247749,from=rss#post247749https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247749,from=rss#post247749Hi everyone, just checking in quickly - everything is great! Travel worked very well, had lovely breakfast with my Dad, a great time in town, found some light pants to wear in the heat (wide grey linnen ones), and my father's partner cooked an awesome Thai themed dinner. Heading out for a long walk in the forest soon. Getting my wishes!   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Thu, 31 Jul 2014 04:50:03 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247748,from=rss#post247748https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247748,from=rss#post247748Well the EX-feral boys, Smoky and Ashes survived the Vet visit. I only got a couple of scratches snagging Smoky to put into his carrier. Once there....the vet put Lavender drops on cotton balls and put into the front of the carriers. It either worked extremely well or both boys were very well behaved. The Vet and assistants took it nice and slow, very calm, gentle, quiet. Both boys got all their shots, teeth, ears and heart checked and nails clipped, without so much as even a growl or grumble.....both are very healthy and in the words of the vet...."adorable and well adapted." Brought them home....went back out and hit the cat food store...stocked up on cat food and got a new scratching post...now we are home for a bit. Need to change litter boxes some time today, garbage comes tomorrow and I will be going out with Mom for a "well deserved" ladies day out....heading for the Chocolate Factory...nothing like chocolate and coffee for lunch! But...for the rest of today, just need to clean out the cats litter boxes....nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Wed, 30 Jul 2014 18:58:35 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247745,from=rss#post247745https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247745,from=rss#post247745 GOOD TUESDAY MY FRIENDS! Another gorgeous but hot day here. The gnats must be horrid out, because I'm watching the lady across the street mow her lawn, wearing one of those hats with the drop down face netting..(Yikes!) Not much going on today, tomorrow I have to take the ex-feral boys, Smoky and Ashes to their first vet visit...NOT drugged. Should be fun.......NOT! LOL Garden is going crazy.....I'm already sick of zucchini. And I only planted ONE plant...Anywho....I'll be around off and on today. HAVE A FANTASTIC ONE! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Tue, 29 Jul 2014 17:20:40 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247734,from=rss#post247734https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247734,from=rss#post247734 GOOD MONDAY MY FRIENDS! Had a fairly good weekend....Saturday saw Hercules on the giant screen, had dinner in the theater and enjoyed our time at the new mall. To expensive to shop, but the landscaping and stuff is so gorgeous. It's just fun to grab a coffee and have a seat in the shade and watch the fountains play.... Then Sunday we worked in the yard, replacing some irrigation sprinkler heads and trying to find the right parts for some others. May have to order those online, no one around here has seen those. Probably went in when this house was built.....or at least 10 or years ago...then went over to Mom and Dads....and joined them for Supper. Dad seems to be adjusting fairly well. Still gets tired very easily....just eating wears him out. But he walks up and down the driveway, (with his walker for safety)...every day as well as does a few other exercises......so slow but sure progress.. GAIA'S eye is much better...so that salve is working. Other than that....today is laundry day, so I will be around off and on today. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY! A couple of photos of the Meridian mall.... A statue of a little girl swinging on a swing held up by butterflies. That giant ROUND cement thing is a firepit...gas/propane fuel. They are everywhere in the mall...all shapes and sizes with comfy chairs all around, so very neat place to hang out in Winter too. Just a couple of the fountain area...these fountains "dance" to the music that is playing all over the place and every weekend, they usually have live music just the other side of where these were taken... MULDAZH, FIRLE..you can both send your thunderstorms my way, I LOVE them! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Mon, 28 Jul 2014 16:57:08 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247728,from=rss#post247728https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247728,from=rss#post247728Sounds good, Firle. So got all my work done yesterday. Today washing up bedding and went over to Mom and Dad's and gave Dad his first haircut in 2 months...Told him I was bringing my hedge trimmer..but just took it slow and went over his head several times.  Then of course it's Friday..so no cooking, cause it's FIESTA FRIDAY! She said they had a pretty good night. Dad needs to readjust to his own bed, but he slept fairly well. And ate a big bowl of MaltOMeal this morning. LOL She's waiting for the IN HOME Physical therapy to call ......may or may not call today. So I may run and get some of her stuff later. But they both seemed in very good spirits! I just finished up. 1st pulling weeds out of all the flower and garden beds. Then 2nd...using the weed whacker to cut around all the edges. Then 3rd. Mowing everything...bagging it and getting it actually in the garbage can...BEFORE the garbage got picked up. So I won't even have to make a run to the dump this weekend. THEN 4th...sprayed all the weeds, and used the blower to clean up all the side walks and patio...and LASTLY...watered all the plants! Tonight for dinner hubby is grilling burgers, sweet corn, zucchini and pepper from the garden, and we even have fresh tomato to go on the burger. AWESOME DAY....but I'm tired now! Glad hubby is cooking. FIRLE....I HAD PETAL ON THE BRAIN!! I had just finished posting her Bday wishes a day early! Just booked train tickets for my family visit. I wanted to try out the new long-distance bus lines, but for the route south I got a really good train offer that whacks two hours off the ride, and on the way home the bus stuff got so complicated that I decided to hop on a train and go home direct, after all. The extra money is worth the comfort. And I'm learning to give myself the comfort I enjoy.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Wed, 23 Jul 2014 16:34:11 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247686,from=rss#post247686https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247686,from=rss#post247686 HI DI HO GANG! Well.....Dad told Mom last night after visiting his Doctor yesterday, that he said he could come home today! Of course he got NO SPECIFICS....MEN! So Mom and I will be going down there at 10am...and may be there a few hours or more. JUST so you know.....depending on Doc and paperwork he maybe home TODAY....or not. They do not all seem that organized....But I probably will NOT be on the rest of the day!! HAVE A GREAT ONE EVERYONE... PETAL....no stressing! If all goes well, I'll send the tax lists out on Friday (decided to just mail them to my tax helper, rather than wait for her to come and pick them up). I managed Audacity fine and sent out those recordings - haven't heard back yet. However, yesterday's radio interview was plagued with problems and we rescheduled to next week. *shrugs* Today, I found out that my colleague gave me data that was arranged differently than normal, and I'm working to correct the wrong numbers that have propagated to dozens of files. I'm rather annoyed, both with her for deviating from the usual arrangement, and with me for not catching it earlier. *sigh* Headaches are back. Must be stress-related. Whew! What a morning. Had two rush jobs....one was to get Gaia my cat to the vet...she had a problem with her eye..Just need to put a salve in it 3 times a day, for 10 days. Possibly something was in there... (She hates to be picked up...oh what fun we are going to have for 10 days.)... Second, I had to have a cortisone shot the big joint of my right toe. I've had them before, but needed a rush job as this one wore off fast...probably me working it to death! LOL (AND I needed it done, cause if they let Dad out of rehab, they will need me at their place.) Then grocery shopping for me and Mom and then water the new plants....dead head the flowers and pick the gardens. Now...we are just waiting around for Dad to call Mom about his Doctors appointment. He DID NOT want anyone driving down there to go with him. He's of course hoping the doc says he is ready to leave Rehab....he's not been home since June 4th. NOW...time to relax a bit till dinner... FIRLE....come one lady. You have been through much crazier times and actually came out the other end in pretty good shape! You can DO THIS! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Tue, 22 Jul 2014 20:15:35 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247665,from=rss#post247665https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247665,from=rss#post247665Things are starting to get insane... I'm paving the way to be part of another radio show, possibly as host. Which means I have to get Audacity up and running and record a few things today. Plus doing a Skype meeting with my coaching buddies, and another radio interview after that. Need to get my tax lists sorted for the 2nd quarter and send them to my tax helper - this week! Client sessions tomorrow and Friday. I promised to send Dorelle's Journey to my formatting people end of the month, and just got feedback from two more beta readers. There's an interesting job opening in my home town, and while I'm still discussing whether I really want it, I need to get that application out. Deadline is August 10th, but I'd like to get it in early, to demonstrate that I'm organized and responsible. I'll be away from home for a few days (visiting my Dad and Sis) starting on the 30th, so that means I need most of that done, plus all the blogposts and newsletters for that week. It feels rather mad - but doable. I just need to learn to really structure my days. It's a good thing.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Tue, 22 Jul 2014 09:07:22 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247654,from=rss#post247654https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247654,from=rss#post247654 HI DI HO AND GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS! We had a good weekend. Hubby and I got that dead tree cut down at Mom and Dad's with only minor scrapes! Then we fixed an irrigation pipe going to Dad's garden that the heat had made bow up out of the ground and made two dump runs to get rid of the tree. Added an hand held shower want to Dad's shower so he can sit and shower....Also picked my FIRST tomato out of our garden. Sunday we went to see Dad, he was in good spirits...(hoping after he sees his doctor tomorrow, and gets x-rays, the doc might send him home by weeks end.)...but he ate a KFC chicken thigh....and a HOMEGROWN tomato! And Dad and I beat, Mom and Roger in pairs Dominoes. Today washing up clothes and bedding, the the city inspector may stop by to check on the AC...as they had to pull a permit to install it.. Tomorrow morning I get another shot of cortisone in my toe....then it's a waiting game to see if they will release DAD. Keeping fingers crossed. It means more work for Mom and Me. But he sure misses home and we miss him. He's been gone since June 4th... ANYWHO...I'll be around today as the laundry gets done...HAVE A GREAT DAY! FIRLE...sounds like you had a very nice and productive weekend! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Mon, 21 Jul 2014 17:28:21 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247649,from=rss#post247649https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247649,from=rss#post247649Finished the packages yesterday, after doing more or less nothing on Saturday. I did talk to my sis and my Dad and arranged for a few days with them soon. Very much looking forward to that. I will try out the new overland buslines for traveling, they are cheap and don't take much longer than the train. Also had a nice BBQ party yesterday, my ex-husband invited me and several friends, some of them mutual. It was more fun than I expected. Today, I'm tired. Still a hot day, and summer is to continue for a while. Just did my shopping run - getting up to be 26C right now, might reach above 30C at noon. I'm invited to a BBQ tomorrow, so I had to get ingredients today (shops are closed on Sundays). I'm hiding inside now, until it eases up in the afternoon. No AC, either. I also gained so much weight in the last month that not a single pair of shorts fits anymore. *sigh* Need to reduce stress - I'm learning that high adrenalin effectivly stops insulin from working. Interesting find. Anyway, I'm going to enjoy today - and work on my packages.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Sat, 19 Jul 2014 09:00:08 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247635,from=rss#post247635https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247635,from=rss#post247635 GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS!  Made it to another weekend... Tomorrow, hubby and me are cutting down a dead tree at Mom and Dad's place and fixing an irrigation pipe....we are hoping that Dad can come home from Rehab at the end of the month. I also sent out a newsletter to my writers list that I thought was really nice, supportive and helpful - and two people unsubscribed. *sigh* My head knows they just cleaned out their inbox and are not my ideal clients, but I felt disappointed and sad anyway. And kids notice and sense that - and then get told they must be wrong... So they learn not to trust their feelings and lack any internal guidance and stability. No wonder they get aggressive. I'm sure that happens worldwide... Very saddened about the crash in Ukraine. I gave another EFT session yesterday, and I'm actually getting used to working with clients. It's no longer special in the sense that I'm nervous and excited, but it is always special because I'm focused on the client and love facilitating shifts. I also sent out a newsletter to my writers list that I thought was really nice, supportive and helpful - and two people unsubscribed. *sigh* My head knows they just cleaned out their inbox and are not my ideal clients, but I felt disappointed and sad anyway. Not much going on today, just need to clean the cat boxes this morning. Will do that as soon as I'm done posting here. Oh and trim any dead plants or ones that have gone wild on me...get them in the garbage too. Dad was good yesterday...ate the sandwich Mom made, and drank a Boost chocolate....Then we put on his safety belt (I hang on to that) and he took his walker and walked to the front seating area....which is quite far. He's definitely walking better. Has his next real Doc appointment on Tuesday next week. He really wants to come home....but we will see. Mom was not feeling very well. She had that cancer removed completely from her nose. So her face was black and blue and she was on pain meds....so she was a bit miserable. So we only stayed a wee bit. We will go shopping tomorrow, if she's feeling better........HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GRAND DAY! I AGREE....I had one of those childhoods! A bit ironic that the man who I could never please and used cruel words to try to break me, is the same man who must now rely on me to care for him and Mom....Sissy was his baby...but she left this Earth. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Thu, 17 Jul 2014 19:47:48 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247619,from=rss#post247619https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247619,from=rss#post247619Parenting skills nowadays, are not much better than those of 50s,60s, 70s and 80s. She came to my practice room ... and I've rarely seen anyone in such emotional distress. She's been cracked open - and hating herself for who she has been. I took her back to the beginning, when she stopped noticing her feelings because she was told as little kid that she was wrong feeling what she did. Classic double bind situation. It's one of the worst things parents can do to their kids. I hope I can help her to heal. She did feel a little better after our long session yesterday. Her big challenge is to start accepting and loving herself. I know a lot about that... And then I took the evening off, curled up with a book, sat on the balcony and just relaxed.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Thu, 17 Jul 2014 07:26:22 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247611,from=rss#post247611https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247611,from=rss#post247611 GOOD WEDNESDAY MY FRIENDS! Hubby got an email from our irrigation company....busted pipe, so we may have no lawn water today, so I should probably water our newly transplanted flowers out front, before the 100 degree heat melts them....anywho, I will be GONE for most of the day, so you all have a great day if you can. FIRLE...I say go with it and have fun! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Wed, 16 Jul 2014 15:32:34 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247608,from=rss#post247608https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247608,from=rss#post247608Ummm. This is not a journalist. There are tons of little online radio shows of normal people who want a little publicity for themselves and get that by sharing stuff from others. It's not big time radio at all. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Wed, 16 Jul 2014 12:08:12 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247606,from=rss#post247606https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247606,from=rss#post247606I am leery of radio show hosts that are friendly - they are journalists, a species of calculating people that don't behave like normal folk. nondisclosed_email@example.com (muladzh)Wed, 16 Jul 2014 10:47:54 +0000 Re: July's Summertime Chathttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247605,from=rss#post247605https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p247605,from=rss#post247605I was really wiped yesterday. And a colleague was celebrating her birthday at work, which eliminated my play time... ah, well. The good news is that I had a great skype meeting with a lady who will interview me next week for her radio show! Woot. I felt like making a new friend, we chatted for over an hour. Didn't get much else done from my list, though. Wish I knew how to clear my sinuses for good. Today, the weather is overcast. I can't be lazy, though, my new client is coming this afternoon and I need to get things cleaned - didn't manage to do that yesterday. Plus I have the Skype meeting with my ABs later this afternoon. At least today's blog post and newsletter are already done and scheduled, that's one worry less.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Wed, 16 Jul 2014 07:56:18 +0000
