Re: August's Amazing 'appy chatting

My new van's brakes squealed when I got it and were getting worse so I took it to the brake place where I learned that the calipers were arrested solid the brake housing for a rusted solid and the discs were rusted solid. Underneath is pretty rusty but not rotted and so must only all sure that but it would appear that the ban at some stage stood in about 10 inches of salt water a body shop will be the next port of call.
To get the brakes fixed cost me is $703 which is actually much better than I assumed it was going to be. Now I have the brakes that do not squeal, and a van that stops.

We call the food city on the way back and looked for somewhere to park; the manager had no idea that he could not put a cart return on the chequered section immediately to the right of a van accessible parking place. This is in direct contravention of the America for disabilities act that states quite categorically that nothing can be placed restricting a mobility van from discharging its wheelchair when parked in a place specifically for that purpose.

I advised the manager of the federal requirement as dictated by the ADA and he assured me that he would take care of the problem immediately. We did our shopping came out and he had dealt with the problem immediately. That's a shame actually I don't like him to have a $15,000 for every van accessible parking space that he'd put something in all five of them.

Morning all. It's another overcast day here so Hubby and I are going to Home Depot to get paint, look at tub enclosures and wallpaper... Oh.. joy... I really hate that place but what can you do? It has to be done. So my day is basically shot. Not sure when I will get back so have a great day!

HI DI HO AND GOOD MONDAY MY FRIENDS....
Well Friday night I was feeling much better and Dad felt goog enough for them to join us for dinner out. Then hubby and I brought them home, and we went out grocery shopping.
Then this weekend was busy. Saturday was mowing, weeding and trimming yards. Sunday hubby and I took off and drove up into the Sawtooth Mountains, to the town of Stanley, and Redfish lake. It was a 3 hour drive going [sign in to see URL] 1/2 coming back, because of: 1. a ton of tourist and/or Boise folks who had been up there camping all weekend, and on Sunday afternoon were all coming back down. AND 2. A small grass fire, that blocked one lane of the two lane winding mountain road for a while, till the Forest Service got it put out. I enjoyed most of it. Always love the mountains. But there is so much of the forest that is either burned or the trees are dead from 'beetle kill'...that it looked very sick. emoticon I was not pleased at all with see it. And once up at the lake, there were so many people packed in, we could barely turn the car [sign in to see URL] alone get out and walk! Won't be going back up there [sign in to see URL] can assure you. [sign in to see URL] sad. Now, [sign in to see URL] day. Oh such is life.

BECKY...hope you survive Home Depot.. emoticon

Hmmmm, do you think it was originally from one of those areas that got flooded along the coast?

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Queeny: Sad to hear about the mountains. I hope they can recover, but it'll take time, I suppose.

Becky: Hope you got everything to spruce up your house for the sale. Wishing you best of luck!

Muladzh: Glad to hear the van got repaired, and you got a parking space cleared so you can actually use it.

Today is the last day of my time-out, and I'm reluctant to even turn on the computer. But I wanted to let you all know that I had a great time, and that somehow, my old life no longer fits as well as it did before.

The hike with my Dad turned into a roughly 26km day tour, which earned me a full set of blisters plus a blue toenail. But I am really proud I did it all, got to see one of my favorite childhood retreats and a great view of where I want to go and live as soon as possible.

Playing with my nephews was fun, and great for not worrying about anything. We even visited a rennaissance fair, despite a lot of rain. I got myself a glass bead on a leather band and a hand-turned mug with a gecko perched on the handle.

Travel was easy and relaxed, since I didn't have to change trains at all. I even got to take a bus home practically the moment I stepped out of the train station.

So it's good to be back to sleeping in my own bed - but I feel like I need to shift things in my life, urgently.

I have no idea whether I like this voice to text software or not, reading things that I have posted shows that it makes a phenomenal amount of mistakes, I look at what it right before I post obviously I miss mistakes.

So: anything I write may or may not be what I intended to write. Therefore, if what I have written does not make sense, that isn't what I wrote; the Dragon wrote it.

HI DI HO AND HAPPY TUESDAY MY FRIENDS!
Kind of a quiet day. Just some [sign in to see URL] the floor. Tomorrow I need to go over and caulk the windows on Mom and Dad's camper. But it seems Summer has come to a even [sign in to see URL] watering, weeding, and picking produce. With Dad no longer in [sign in to see URL] is a lot less stressful. Kind of nice to come up for air. I should be around most of the day...

MULDAZH...at least you can blame the DRAGON! emoticon The rest of us don't have an excuse. emoticon

FIRLE...nice to have you back. So glad you got to go for a long [sign in to see URL] love the kind of energy you can get from doing that. And [sign in to see URL] sick forest is [sign in to see URL] huge crowds was energy draining. So not going back there..
Bummer you got so many blisters... emoticon

Queeny: Glad you get to breathe a little. You still sound busy!

Muladzh: We'll all blame the Dragon! emoticon

Back at work, back at doing inane things. I have a client later on, and don't even feel like working with her. Grrrr. Trying to figure out what I DO want and where my heart is taking me.

It might just be exhaustion talking - my biggest heart's desire is to curl up in bed. emoticon

However, I have a couple of deadlines, so I'd better get working.

Re: August's Amazing 'appy chatting

The functionality of the latest OSX in mac leaves a lot to be desired. The voice recognition software will not work on anything less, making my computer experience less that I will accept. Because of this, I have bought a PC laptop, that will arrive on Friday, complete with the latest windows version of Dragon - Dragon speaking naturally - It is supposed to much better than Dragon dictate, the software for the mac, and we will see if this is presidents new.

Until then I will put up with the oddities of this version, and the hopelessly useless Mavericks operating system. When I have the alternative system, I will return to my beloved Snow Leopard operating system, that stands in time as the last decent operating system for mac computers. No longer supported, it will continue indefinitely, as no more updates are available so they can't screw it up.
