Beltaine Celebration

OHHH my what a day it was yesterday. I am soooooo sore and stiff from dancing, running, dancing the May [sign in to see URL]'s just not even [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] it is.

We started the day by putting the finishing touches to our May Wine. Everyone's was a bit different, and all was wonderful. We had a wine tasting out under the trees in our High Priestess and High Priest's back yard. Then, the ladies all danced for a while, then we started dancing the May [sign in to see URL] even got my somewhat anti-social DH to join in all the festivities and be a part. The men brought out the May Pole, as us ladies danced around the flower [sign in to see URL] we got the topper on and the pole up. I've never danced the May Pole [sign in to see URL] was wonderful! the pole was so tall that we had to take a break about half [sign in to see URL], we decided that was a good time to [sign in to see URL] brought all the food down to the table under the trees (they have a HUGE back yard)...there was potato salad, a tossed salad, 2 kinds of pasta salad, a huge wonderful sandwich, fresh fruit with dip, spinach and artichoke dip with [sign in to see URL]'t remember what [sign in to see URL] for dessert, there was a cake that was [sign in to see URL] was for [sign in to see URL] had whipped cream icing, strawberry gooey stuff and [sign in to see URL] was just divine, then a sugar free chocolate cream pie and a coconut cream pie, also sugar free. Plenty of things to [sign in to see URL] the wine, or beer, water, cold [sign in to see URL]. Then we played some of the [sign in to see URL] down and rested from [sign in to see URL] for our May King and May [sign in to see URL] was the May [sign in to see URL] such an honor! The May King was the husband of one of the other [sign in to see URL] he is also a Pagan [sign in to see URL] the most awesome kind. And a real sweetheart. After that, we continued the May Pole, with the King and I being "tied" to the [sign in to see URL] was an experience in itself. After we got finished there, we cleaned up our meal stuff, and headed to the deck into the sun a [sign in to see URL] we danced some more. [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] one point, all the ladies got up in our leader's little boy's treehouse and danced. What a hoot that was. [sign in to see URL] to the deck and sat and talked, danced, talked, then it was time for [sign in to see URL] of the guys had made a comment about us serving dessert [sign in to see URL], we halfway obliged. We took off our tops and served it [sign in to see URL] to their delight! ROTFL! It was too cool by that time to leave the tops off, so we redressed as soon as we put the desserts on the [sign in to see URL] dessert, we took all our stuff up to the kitchen and got stuff put away, then we crashed in the livingroom and played a game called "Two Truths and A Lie"....that is a really neat [sign in to see URL] makes you get to know the people in the room with you. We played that till almost 10:30 last night. DH and I finally crawled into the house about midnight last night. 12 hours of nothing but Beltaine frolicking and fun. It was AWESOME!!!!!

[sign in to see URL] anyone else do anything???? LOL

Sounds pretty Neat Saijen.
But I sure would not be brave enough to go topless. emoticon Though it sounds like you had a lot of fun.

For [sign in to see URL] did not do much. Wanted a Bon fire,, but the wind has been way too strong.

You sound like a wild teenager!! emoticon Much braver then I could be. What I think is so neat is your ability to let yourself be open to these new friendships. That is something I am trying to work on. I find myself being to "private" most of the time.

The only thing we did was run over to my mom's early in the morning and put some flowers on her door. It makes her smile, and the kids felt good about that.

I remember doing a may pole in the 3rd grade. It was so tall, and had so many pretty ribbons. I remember just thinking that was the coolest thing.

I'm glad you had fun. emoticon

Re: Beltaine Celebration

Just so y'all [sign in to see URL]'ve been rather prudish for most of my adult life. It's not been until I met this group of friends, and realized that when we do something like the whole topless thing, it's not about [sign in to see URL]'s about freedom..."Perfect Love, Perfect Trust". I've only known these people 6 months, but feel that I've known them all my life. I NEVER would have done anything like this with anyone else I know/knew. This is how comfortable I am with them, and they with me. It's just an awesome feeling, to be honest.

I'm still paying [sign in to see URL]. My poor old bones and muscles are really fussing at me. Oh [sign in to see URL]'d do it again in a heartbeat.

mmm, you've captured what I love so much about bellydancing. That freedom. It's not quite the same, cause we aren't topless in a class, obviously, but there's a real freedom about moving your body that way. It's not sexual, not exactly, but really freeing. Know what I mean?

ok, I gotta get to work!

Re: Beltaine Celebration

Yeah, I do know what you mean, Cat. I'm learning a little of the belly dancing, but not much. Most of the dancing is just tuned out everything but the music and literally FELLING the music tell you how to move. We didn't dance topless, cause we were out in the back with no fence, and it's illegal to do that in a [sign in to see URL], we stayed clothed for that. We did have an "audience" at several points during the day though. Was actually kind of neat.

We've already started plans for our MidSummer's Eve Celebration. My High Priestess and I were thinking up costume ideas yesterday. We're all going to dress as Faeries and we had a really neat idea for a Faerie "dress"

[sign in to see URL]'s lightning really bad, so I'm gonna have to finish checking the board later.

Blessings, and all be safe!
