Do you play?
Does anyone in here play any kind of musical instrument?
I can KIND OF play my dulcimer and the piano/keyboard. I'd like to learn how to play the violen and a guitar one of these days.

Re: Do you play?
I can play the radio . Does that count? Our daughter is learning the fiddle and our son is learning the guitar.

Re: Do you play?
I played French horn and trumpet in high school, took some guitar lessons about 20 years ago, can play recorder and a little bit of penny whistle - oh yeah, self-taught on a button accordion too, but not real well!

Re: Do you play?
I can play flute (intermediate level) was in band in 6-9th grades and fool around with it since.
I have a hammered dulcimer that I've gotten some easy music out of, but haven't played lately... need to find the music round TUIT, and take care of more practice on that.
I've played a little bit on my regular/mtn dulcimer.
And I've had a little bit of piano lessons a long time ago and would love to play again some day (at least a keyboard that will do synthizier and harpsacord sounds).

Re: Do you play?
I play the recorder, and used to teach it, long ago. I also own a guitar, but I fear that all it's strings are broken by now.
I see a pattern here. Like most of you, I have lately been neglecting my instruments somewhat. Maybe it's time to change that.

Re: Do you play?
Well what a talented bunch we are...lol.
I also played bells in band in highschool...9-11th grades.
I can kinda sorta play the flute, but I just don't have the lung power it takes. I get dizzy.....ROTFL!
Need to spend more time learning how to play my dulcimer.....I found out that around here, rather than using a DAD chording, they us a DAA chording (it's a 4 string dulcimer)....which is MUCH easier to play. Eventually I'll find someone who can teach me the right way to play it. I wanna get good at it, at some point.

Re: Do you play?
I love dulcimer. I got to hire a two man band once, in a former job, for an event. They were called Greenwood Tree and they played incredible Celtic folk music. I still have their tape. The dulcimer player was unbelievable. I have never seen arms and hands move so fast with those little mallets! (is that what they're called?)

Re: Do you play?
I use to play trumpet and if I cheat and make notes in the music before I sit down to play I can fake organ.
Does beating a drum to my own beat or shaking my rattle count?
My father can play organ by ear, and my one daughter has learned the recorder and now trumpet and she is wanting to learn violin next year.

Re: Do you play?
I took piano lessons as a child, but I can't play piano.
I played the viola in the school orchestra from 6th grade through 11th grade.
I have an Indian flute that I tinker around with.
Want to learn the mandolin.
