You can cook it like spinach. It is more mildly flavored.nondisclosed_email@example.com (finnabairpendragon)Sun, 11 Jun 2006 10:53:55 +0000 Re: Garden Goodieshttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p526,from=rss#post526https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p526,from=rss#post526Well as I speak I am eating a great salad we harvested just a little while ago. We have been getting lettuce for little more than a week now and it is very good. The house also smells wonderful as the herbs are in full tilt we have been harvesting more than normal and hanging from the beams to dry for winter use. Last night we cooked Swiss Chard for the first time ever. What a fantastic veggie!! I made yogurt cheese with fresh goat milk from Yarrow and herbed it with fresh dill. Yummy!nondisclosed_email@example.com (finnabairpendragon)Fri, 09 Jun 2006 11:03:25 +0000 Re: Garden Goodieshttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p523,from=rss#post523https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p523,from=rss#post523Well, no goodies on the balcony except for a few kitchen herbs. However, the rose is doing very well, and has four huge flowers open this morning. I have pics in the camera, but they still need to be converted to internet-able files.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Fri, 09 Jun 2006 07:05:52 +0000 Garden Goodieshttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p522,from=rss#post522https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p522,from=rss#post522Well...we actually had part of our meal from the garden tonight. I fixed pinto beans, cornbread and we had wilted lettuce with onions (both of those from the garden). YUMMmmmmmmmmy. The onions are doing great...the beans are coming up, as is the corn...finally. Okra is peeking it's head out of the dirt, so are the radishes and beets. The cabbage has taken off and is growing quickly, and it won't be long before we'll have tomatoes to deal with. I've learned to can my green tomaotes rather than freeze them. They don't get mushy. I'm very happy that the garden is well on it's way, finally! Hope everyone else who has a garden is having goodies coming in now too.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Fri, 09 Jun 2006 04:57:31 +0000
