Poor horses! Are there any 4H people around or someone else who'd care? That's so sad.

I think at this point, everyone is afraid to get involved with the family.

I'm going to mow stretches of our hay field and throw the grass over the fence.

YIKES!!! is this the same people who had the mare (blind in one eye) that you tried to get them to sell me last year? I heard about someone from here getting arrested for trying to hire a hit man (think she met him down at the park in mammoth springs or something?) Nice neighbors! Finn, did you hear about our neighbors (thankfully not real close neighbors LOL) you know that sort of nasty/junky/working on cars all the time house not far after the Juntion of A&E (when you turn on E towards my house/alton) well saturday night Ed drove by and there were a bunch (12 or so) guys hanging out there, few minutes later Garland drives by and they are fighting. THEN the sound of squealing tires. Glenda hears the thud (I was inside and just heard the car) Some woman is screaming "you killed him, you killed him" Glenda & Ervin take off to see if they can help. YEP, they killed. Guy looked like he'd been either in the road or something. Hit him, threw in the ditch. Don't know the details (and with that bunch NO ONE will ever get the truth) some guy from Cherokee Village.

Yes, this is the blind in one eye mare neighbors. She tried to sell us the horses before she was arrested, probably to fund the hit, but we had the feeling things were fishy and declined at that time.

Your memory is correct on the details of her meeting. Gotta be pretty stupid to go across state lines, too. Hey, let's just up the ante on this crime!!!

We are hoping that the house goes on the market soon.

Yick! What scary stories. How terrible for the horse.

Well, the happenings here will sound tame by comparison, but ...

I laid out my square foot garden on Saturday emoticon Carrots are in the ground and all kinds of stuff is started in the house. We bring in this cobbled together, ugly metal shelf thing we made, with shop lights. A mini green house. Our hosue is small and the thing is ugly, but it does a great job. I am glad when the plants can get outside. This year with cold frames too, I'm really going to have fun. I have so many varieties of peppers planted - can't wait!

I'm going to put spinach and lettuce in today, and maybe beets if I have time (working around my work-work, lol)

[sign in to see URL] poor horses. That's just pitiful how some people treat animals! I hope those poor horses get some justice soon.

We can't get a dry enough time to get our garden planted. We'd hoped to work on it [sign in to see URL], we had yet another HUGE rain storm today. Seems we'll never get it planted.

Planted three sections of spinach last night. Beets today, I think, also rutabagas and parsnips. Working like crazy, cause it's supposed to rain Fri-Sun. And I think I"LL be working all weekend, on deadline work. So if it rains, that's ok!

There's a woodpile staring at me too, out the window, that needs stacking. I just need to find the time, lol.

We had a hail storm two days ago. The cukes took the worst damage. They were about 4 inches tall, and I lost 8 of 12. The tomato plants look pretty good, considering. None of the pepper plants took direct hits.

Yarrow, did you get hail, too?
