Re: Christianity VS Paganism/Wicca
Actually, muladzh, the intial question/reason for this thread was what likenesses and differenceses to you see between Christianity and Paganism/Wicca. Things like, both do rituals of some sort, both have altars, etc. It was to have been a comparison between the 2 rather than the discussion it ended up being.

Re: Christianity VS Paganism/Wicca
I see only the similarity at this point no matter what your faith/path. Your religion is based on the human need to explain the unexplain to give a title and meaning to what we do not understand. Be it from fear or awe we have to have a source to thank and blame for all that happens in our world.

Re: Christianity VS Paganism/Wicca
any religion/belief system/way of life is only as good/bad as the one practicing it
besides i feel the term pagan if far more encompassing than the term christian. not a fair comparison imho

Re: Christianity VS Paganism/Wicca
heritage, I totally agree that the term Paganism is much more encompassing than the term Christianity, but not all here are exactly Pagan, or Wiccan, so I had to kind of use that term rather losely. Perhaps I could/should have been a bit more direct in the terminology I used.
As to your first statement, I'll again say that the initial concept for this thread were likenesses and differences in the two, rather than the good or bad of either.
Paganism uses altars/Christianity uses altars
Paganism uses rituals/Christianity uses rituals
Paganism uses a wheel of the year/Christianity uses the regular calendar
Some Pagans work skyclad/Christians dress in their best...
This is kind of what was intended by this thread. We could sit and debate the good and evil of both until we're blue in the face, and get nowhere, really.
