Re: Seeds and planting
Indeed, you sound very busy!
So far this week I planted some spinach, radishes and a little swiss chard. And some sunflowers today. Not a lot, about 20 if they all come up.
Tomorrow I need to repot my pepper seedlings, they are getting too big for their britches. In about 2-3 weeks I will put them out. The tomatoes are looking good and I hope I have good luck with them this year. Tomorrow I am going to start some zucchini and cuke seedlings just to make sure they germinate. I am always impatient and feel like I am never putting enough in the garden, but we've got limited space! Poor husband has to make two more big raised beds for me, and I don't think he's all that happy about it.

Re: Seeds and planting
Plants just seem to keep finding their way to needing repotting or transplanting!
Yesterday....
DH thought I needed to transplant my African Violet, so, as I was trying to pull the entire thing from the pot, one chunk came out....so, planted it in a small pot, and we ended up creating 3 new pots of African Violets.
I also have several pots with combinations of Spider plants and Wandering Jew. One of my baby Spiders fell off the stem, so it got potted. Then, in the process of pulling dead, dry leaves off my mariad of Wandering Jews, some healthy ends came off of dead vine stems.....ended up with 20 of those, so they all got potted...divided between 2 pots.
So, now, I have a host of newly potted things to tend to.
Also, looks like I'm going to have to get another Tarragon plant. The one I had is deader than a doornail. No clue why.
We're slowly getting the front area..porch, flower beds, etc, back to their normal Spring/Summer splendor. Just takes time.
Rebecca, hope your DH gets the other beds built for you, without too much fuss...lol.

Queeny....you said a mouthful there! I'm actually hoping I may be able to give some of the Wandering Jew away. I reallllllly don't want anymore. That stuff is worse than a rabbit.....very prolific!

Re: Seeds and planting
Firle...all Wandering Jew needs is soil....or a jar of water, even. If you put it in a compost pile, it will grow!!! LOL.....
You can almost just lay this stuff down in some loose dirt and it will root...it's pretty hearty stuff! lol.

Re: Seeds and planting
Ah, of course, here we get frost which will kill it off. I can see your point, though!
I did some potting myself: I got a nice purple flowering plant (Osteospermium) for my balcony and took it out of the plastic pot it came in and planted it in a much larger, ceramic pot. I love how the flowers start almost white and then turn purple. I hope it'll stay with me all summer.

Re: Seeds and planting
Cool on the new flower for your balcony!! Looks almost like a daisy! Love the color!!!!!!!
I hope it stays with you, too! Is it an annual? Didn't read that far on the link.
So far, no more planting here...not sure if DH got the corn planted yesterday or not. Not looked at the garden.
Today, looks like rain, so what is in the garden may get some watering by Mother Nature!

Re: Seeds and planting
They are annuals in Germany, since they don't survive the winter. I think they are also called African Daisy or something, since they look so much like a daisy.
I really should take a picture of it. Today was a rainy and dark day, though, not good for taking pictures.
