Solitary or Group?

Do you always practice alone or do you have a group that you meet with - on a regular basis, occasionally, etc? How did you find your group?

What do you like and dislike about whether you practice as a solitary or in a group?

emoticon The Circle of Seekers now only gathers for the festivals. For years, barring weather or illness, we got together every week for some learning or fellowship. It seems in this busy times everyone is either working, going to school, away for the holidays or just plain tired.
So I have been solitary mostly. emoticon

Solitary there is no group close and now that I have walked this path for several year it is the one that fits me best.

I do at times get invited to join in at group events when there is a festival fairly close.

I have never fit into any groups (or perhaps I'm just to curious to stay in one place long)...... so I'm completely solitary emoticon

Both, actually. I do a lot of works on my own, but spend time with a group for some of the Sabbats. I enjoy doing the works alone because I can do things the way I'm comfortable with, and not how someone else says they are supposed to be done. Celebrating the Sabbats is always more fun, for me, with a group....especially Samhain.

You know..... living in the U.P. I was pretty isolated... no known groups near me.
Since we've moved down here.... I know of at least two groups.. I just haven't made an attempt to connect with them to feel them out yet.
I probably should... to look at it as a "learning experience" if nothing else....

But I've read soooooooooo many things saying most "groups" are just young folks rebelling against "Christianity", lots of immaturity, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I have so little patience for such things... It's a fault of mine I should really work on because I'm probably missing out on a good thing...

Definitely solitary. Groups generally speaking make my skin crawl. It seems like you get people together and no matter how well intentioned at some point it ends up becoming petty and political. So I prefer loose affiliations. Like this forum, or twitter or facebook. Places where I can dip in and out of the river.

Re: Solitary or Group?

With the Blue Moon on New Year's Eve my group got together to do our annual Tarot for the up coming year. Also to plan on getting back to our weekly lessons. This brings such peace to me. Our group consists of 8 regulars ranging in age 26-61 and 4 kids 8-10 who love every aspect of the craft. My granddaughter takes charge of smudging everyone.
This Weds. we are making talismans using our witches boards that we made last year, that will help us in this new year of 2010.
Being with like-minded people helps me realize that I am not alone in this Christian-based town. Good groups are hard to find, I am so blessed.

I think that the last time I answered such a question, I admitted to being within a limited coven. That still applies, though one member has now left home.
