Our silly ducks
We still have Gary, Lance and Nicodemus. They are so much fun to watch out in the yard. They were soo shy at first and we couldn't get near them. They've slowly come to accept our presence. They come to the back door (glass) and quack and clack their bills on it to say 'hello'. I used to try to throw yummy food scraps to them but they were terrified and ran away...and the dog swooped in and got whatever I threw! But they are even accepting some treats now.
So the other day, I tried an experiment. I had never done this before, I but I just sat still on a picnic blanket in the yard (with Mexia crawling all over me!) with a handful of feed. Sure enough...
Yeah!!! Only Gary did it but Lance and Nicodemus looked interested. I bet I can win them over soon too!
This is the usual scene for outdoor play right now. Kali lazing on the blanket with us and the ducks hovering nearby for any snacks the kids might drop!

Re: Our silly ducks
I love it! And I'm sure the others will learn the trick as well.
I can't get over seeing that it's warm enough for you to sit outdoors. It's below freezing again tonight!
